Back-to-School Isn’t Just for the Kids

It’s that time again! How fast it arrives. Fresh notebooks, sharpened pencils, lunchboxes lined up like little soldiers. Back-to-school season’s here. This time of year, everything seems to pick up pace. Roads get busier, planners fill up, and every store’s got bins of crayons and glue sticks. It’s easy to get caught up in everyone else’s momentum—helping the kids settle into routines, shifting gears at work, or trying to squeeze in the last bits of summer before the world moves on without us. I want to remind you: this season isn’t just for the young ones.
I want to ask you something that’s not often asked: What if this season was yours, too?
For over five decades, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from all walks of life. People who showed up not because everything was perfect, but because they were ready for something different. Some were starting fresh. Some were circling back to a dream they’d put off. Others didn’t know what they were looking for yet, they just knew it was time to learn again. Real estate gave them more than a license. It gave them traction, confidence, and a way forward.
If that’s where you find yourself—on the edge of change, even if it’s quiet and unspoken—I want you to know that you’re not alone. And more importantly, you’re not too late. Around here, we don’t believe in “should’ve started sooner.” We believe in starting well, whenever you’re ready.
What sets this school apart isn’t just the curriculum or the flexibility, though we’ve got plenty of both. It’s the way we care for people. When you enroll in a class at Jan Secor, you’re not signing up for a transaction. You’re stepping into something personal. I built this school the way I was raised, with honesty, accountability, and heart. I show up for my students, and I stick with them—not just until the exam, but beyond that, when they’re building their careers and figuring out who they want to be in this business.
I’ve seen the way a second career can change a household. I’ve watched people walk in unsure and walk out licensed, proud, and ready. Not because they had all the answers going in, but because they had support, structure, and someone in their corner.
So, if you’re looking for something that’s yours, something to grow into, something to build on, I hope you’ll consider joining us. Whether you prefer to learn in person, online, or at your own pace, we’ve made room for you. And if you’re still not sure, that’s okay too! There’s power in just asking the question: What if this Back-to-School season could be mine? You don’t have to know all the steps right now. Just take the first one.
I’d be honored to walk with you.
Warmly

Kind words from the folks I've taught: from Google Reviews
“Jan is a fantastic teacher, she has helped me in any way possible. She gave me all the info I needed to prepare for the state exam. I passed her class exam the first try and taken the state exam 2 weeks later and passed that as well... she was still providing me with help even after I finished the class. I highly recommend her. You get what you pay for and I got what I paid for in her class and more. I would give her a extra star for the extra distance she goes for her students.” - Brandon L.
“Jan is a great teacher and she really cares about the people she teaches. She genuinely wants them to pass the course and [she's] not just collecting money. She is willing to tutor you and even reaches out to see if you need any help before taking the state exam. She is a wonderful person. I'm glad I chose her class. Thanks Jan.” - Bryan W.
